The City of Earthly Delights
Acrylic on Canvas
40" X 48"
Artist's Notes: The City of Earthly Delights is the
first painting in the Heaven, Hell and the Earth
series. It represents New York (america) as it
looked to much of the muslim world prior to 9-11.
The three central characters, jesus, libertly and
satan are posed directly after hieronymous
bosch's Earthly Paradise and represent the
perceived wedding between freedom and evil.
The emphasis on strawberries and strawberry
eating is also inspired by bosch and symbolizes
lustfulness. Lady justice has the all seeing eye
and yields a bloody sword. A half monkey Darwin
holds an upside down flag in his tail, as a warning
of the horrors to come, while god himself gives
an enthusiastic thumbs up in approval of the
attacks.

Ascending to Heaven
Acrylic on Canvas
40" X 48"
Artist's Notes: Heaven, Hell and the Earth,
the second in the series, takes place after
the first airplane attack but before the
second. It shows america as a brutish ape,
dawning an israeli flag t-shirt and crushing
lady justice in order  illustrate the terrorist's
belief that the u.s. and israeal have joined
together to deny justice to the
palestinians. In the lower left corner, three
extremist raise a burning american flag in
celebration, while the statue of liberty
commits suicide, a gesture symbolizing the
victim's loss of liberty. A dead darwin,
lower right, represents the death of logic
to the hands of radicalism.
Artist's Notes: Burning in Hell is the third in
the Heaven, Hell and the Earth series. It
takes place after both airplanes were
crashed into the twin towers and is
intended to show immense suffering
endured by all the victims involved.
Artist's Notes: Ascending to Heaven is the
fourth painting in the series. It finalizes the
series with everyone's deaths and their
spirits ascending to god's outstretched
hands. The statue of liberty is godzilla-like
and attacks the city with fire to symbolize
the world's (France) negative  reaction to
americas decision to go to war with iraq
after 9-11.
