Welcome to Paintedatrocities.com. I have developed this
website as a way to connect with those people interested
in the artwork I create. On the following pages you can
read a bit about how the ideas for my paintings are
formulated and what techniques I employ in order to turn
these ideas into visual images. There will also be the latest
news on upcoming showings and media reviews, as well as,
a Gallery page devoted to the "Painted Atrocities"
currently for sale. Please feel free to e-mail any comments
or questions you may have. Thank you for you interest.

Can't Stop!
America's Journey from the Slave House
to the White House
"Can't Stop!" America's Journey from the Slave House to the
White House" is my newest series of paintings. This eight canvas
series tracks the nearly 400 year quest for African American
freedom, liberation and equal rights, through changes in religious
beliefs, cultural identity and artistic creativity. The paintings
combine depictions of historical sites and well known civil rights
leaders with symbolic totems and religious visions.
Even though the exhibit ends with the election of Barack
Obama to the presidency, my hope is that people will project
their own ideas of what comes next. That is, of where the
struggle goes from here and how far it can take us as a nation.
